About this Project

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has been considering an upgrade of it’s railway network, which at the time consisted of a largely redundant narrow gauge railway running north to south and isolated lines of standard gauge railway linking strategic industrial locations with the port in Aqaba.

Roles and Responsibility

In 2019, ECSL were commissioned by the Ministry of Transport to undertake a feasibility and financial study to develop a new standard gauge railway network that would serve both freight and passenger services, linking key locations within Jordan to the bordering countries, ports and airports.
